Teaching Character, Cultivating Success

We are witnessing an alarming increase in bullying, behavioral misconduct, and crime among our youth in today’s society.

Who we are:

The Character Initiative addresses key moral and ethical issues that are more critical than ever for success in our students’ lives today. This program encourages critical thinking and provides tools for stronger interpersonal relationships. Learning and academics can’t help but benefit when students treat each other with dignity and respect.

How it works:

Students learn practical lessons about honesty, respect, forgiveness, bullying, and perseverance that they can easily apply in real life. Trained local volunteers help to teach the Character Initiative in the classroom setting in an objective, neutral, and academic manner in accordance with government guidelines. The curriculum can be adapted to fit any school schedule.

FAQ:

How much does it cost?

It is completely free to all schools.

Are these Religious Classes?

No, the law requires us to remain objective, neutral, and academic when teaching in the classroom. These classes will NOT resemble a Sunday school or religious service in any way.

How long is a class?

Typically the lessons last for 45 minutes to 1 hour. However this program is specifically designed to be flexible to fit into any school schedule.

Who teaches the classes?

We provide the teachers at no charge. Every teacher will have a Federal Background check available. If your school system has any additional requirements please let us know.

How often are classes taught?

We have found the best schedule to be once per month. This way the school can offer consistent character education throughout the school year without diverting too much time away from academic studies.

What age groups are best suited for this program?

Current material is designed for middle and high school students, however, work is currently under way for elementary school material, as well.

Testimonial:

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Mr. Daniel Conley for two years. He comes to our alternative school twice a month and teaches character lessons to middle school students. He does an outstanding job of relating to these students and presents the material in a fun way. I would highly recommend his services to any middle or high school character programs.
